Heat water.

(Too hot will kill yeast.) Add rye and white flour.

Knead until dough does not stick to board or hands.

Put in pan and let rise to double in size. Knead down and divide into thirds.

Shape into loaves and let rise to double in size, then bake at 350Β° for 45 to 50 minutes.

Cool on rack so air can circulate around bread.

Raisins can be added if you choose.
