Mushroom Casserole
Mushroom Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. medium size mushrooms, 1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. softened butter or oleo, 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. salt and 2 tsp. prepared mustard, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Clean mushrooms with damp paper towels.
Remove stems and reserve for other uses.
Slice caps and set aside.
Cream the butter, flour, salt, mustard, nutmeg and pepper at medium speed on electric mixer.
Add sour cream, parsley and onion; stir well. Place half of mushroom slices in a greased 2-quart baking dish. Top with half of the sour cream mix, spreading evenly.
Repeat layers.
Bake at 325Β° for 1 hour or until casserole is thoroughly heated.
