Whole Wheat Rolls
Whole Wheat Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, 2 c. milk, 3 tbsp. butter, 2 eggs and 1/2 to 1 c. all-purpose flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Combine 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and yeast in large mixing bowl.
Heat milk, sugar, butter and salt in saucepan until warm; stir into yeast mixture.
Add eggs.
Beat at low speed for 30 seconds.
Beat at high speed for 3 minutes.
Stir in whole wheat flour and as much remaining all-purpose flour as possible.
Knead on floured surface for 5 to 8 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease surface.
Let rise, covered, for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in bulk.
Punch dough down.
Let rest, covered, for 10 minutes.
Shape into rolls on baking sheet.
Let rise, covered, for 45 minutes.
Bake at 400Β° for 15 to 20 minutes.
Yields 2 to 3 dozen.
