Paul Vonfuw's Soft Rolls
Paul Vonfuw'S Soft Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 cakes yeast, 2 c. lukewarm milk, 1/4 c. sugar, 2 eggs and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Crumble yeast over milk.
(If you use dry yeast, dissolve 2 packages in 1/2 cup warm water; decrease milk to 1 1/2 cups.) Stir to combine.
Add sugar, eggs, salt and oleo.
Add four cups flour, beating until smooth.
Add remainder of flour until firm dough is formed.
Knead thoroughly.
Grease and place in bowl. Cover with damp towel.
Let rise in warm place (80°) until doubled in bulk (about 1 1/2 hours).
Punch down and let rest 10 minutes. Dough is now ready for shaping into rolls.
Bake at 400° for 18 to 20 minutes.
