Pastitsio
Pastitsio is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni 1 beaten egg, 1/3 c. grated parmesan, 1/4 c. milk, 1 lb. ground beef or lamb and 1/2 c. chopped onion, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cook macaroni, drain.
Combine macaroni, 1 egg, 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese and the 1/4 cup milk.
Set aside.
Brown meat and onion in skillet; drain off fat.
Stir in tomato sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; set aside.
In saucepan, melt butter.
Stir in flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Add the 1 1/2 cups milk all at once.
Cook and stir until thickened. Remove from heat.
Stir about half of the hot mixture into beaten egg.
Return to remaining hot mixture.
Stir in 1/4 cup cheese. Place half macaroni mixture in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Spoon the meat mixture on top, add the remaining macaroni mixture. Spread the sauce over all.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.
