Fry Bread
Fry Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. warm (110~ to 115~) water, 1 1/2 tbsp. vegetable oil, 3 to 3 1/2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp. sugar and 1 pkg. active dry yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

In 2 cup glass measuring cup, combine water, oil, sugar and yeast.
Set aside 5 minutes for yeast to dissolve.
In medium-size bowl, combine 3 cups flour and the salt.
Add yeast mixture to flour mixture and stir until soft dough forms, adding more flour, if necessary, to make dough manageable.
On lightly floured surface, knead dough 6 to 8 times.
Invert bowl over ball of dough and let rest 45 minutes.
In large skillet, heat 1-inch of oil to 375Β° on deep fat thermometer.
On floured surface with rolling pin, roll out dough to a 14-inch square.
Cut into 16 (3 1/2-inch) squares.
Fry dough squares until golden, about 3 minutes each side.
Drain well on paper towels.
Makes 16 fry breads.
