Scald milk.
Add sugar, butter and salt; stir to melt butter. Cool.
Dissolve yeast in water (warm 110° to 115°).
Add yeast mixture and eggs to milk mixture; mix well.
Add all-purpose flour.
Stir in enough whole wheat flour to make very soft dough. Do not knead.
Place in greased bowl; turn dough in bowl to lightly grease top.
Cover; let rise until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
Punch down.
Turn onto lightly floured pastry cloth; knead until smooth and elastic.
Divide dough into 32 pieces. Shape into balls.
Place in 2 greased 9 x 1 1/2-inch cake pans. Cover; let rise until double in bulk, about 40 minutes.
Bake in 375° gas oven 20 to 25 minutes.
Remove from pans; cool on racks. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.
