Whole Wheat Rolls
Whole Wheat Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 4 1/2 c. whole wheat flour, 1 1/2 c. unbleached flour, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/3 c. honey, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine yeast, whole wheat flour, 1 cup unbleached flour and salt in mixing bowl.
Heat honey, butter and milk until liquids are very warm.
Add gradually to flour mixture.
Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Knead in 1/2 cup unbleached flour until dough forms a ball (about 5 to 7 minutes).
Cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled.
Punch dough down; divide in half.
Form each half into 12 to 18 smooth balls, depending on how large you want the rolls to be.
Let rise.
Bake at 400Β° for 20 to 25 minutes.
