Vidalia Onion Soup
Vidalia Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 to 5 large onions, sliced, 3 tbsp. butter or oleo, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1 tbsp. flour and 6 c. beef broth (canned is best or 6 cubes and 6 c. water), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Saute onions in butter; add pepper.
Cook until lightly browned.
Sprinkle onions with flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Add beef broth and simmer 30 minutes.
Taste and add salt to taste.
Place soup in individual ovenproof dishes.
Place toast on top and sprinkle with cheese.
Place under broiler or in 400Β° oven until cheese is melted.
