Southern Fried Chicken
Southern Fried Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 to 3 lb. chicken, cut up, 2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1 c. flour and 1/2 c. lard or shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
Place flour in brown paper bag; add chicken.
Twist top of bag to seal and shake until chicken is well coated.
Heat lard and butter in a large frypan with cover.

Return to low heat; cover and cook 35 to 45 minutes, turning chicken once.
Remove from pan; drain on paper towels.
