Light Dinner Rolls
Light Dinner Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. milk, 3/4 c. water, 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, 4 1/2 or 5 c. all-purpose flour and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Heat milk, water and 1/4 cup butter in saucepan until very warm (120° to 130°).
Stir together 3 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast in large mixing bowl.
Gradually add warm liquid mixture to dry ingredients and beat with electric mixer on high for 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out onto floured board or pastry cloth.
Cover dough with bowl and let rest for 10 minutes.
Knead just until smooth, about 3 minutes.
Place dough in a large greased bowl, turn once to grease top.
Cover and let rise in warm draft-free area until doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes.
Punch dough down.
Shape into rolls, as desired.
Place on pans.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from pans; place on wire racks.
