Lentil Burgers
Lentil Burgers is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. lentils, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 1/4 tsp. salt, 3 tbsp. butter or margarine and 1 c. chopped green onions, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Rinse and drain the lentils and put in medium saucepan with the water and teaspoon
Cook 25 minutes or until tender.
Drain and discard excess cooking liquid.
Mash lentils. In a medium skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter or margarine and add onions and garlic.
Saute until soft, about 2 or minutes. Stir lentils, along with crumbs, wheat germ, walnuts, eggs, steak sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt and hot pepper sauce.
Shape into four patties.
Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter or margarine and fry patties over medium heat until brown, to 5 minutes each side, lifting patties occasionally spatula to prevent sticking. Serve with sliced tomato or onion, if desired.
