Fried Green Tomatoes
Fried Green Tomatoes is an easy dinner. Made with 4 large firm green tomatoes (pick just before they start to turn orange), flour, salt and pepper to taste and oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Wash and slice tomatoes thick. Salt and pepper each side. Coat with flour and let sit. Cover bottom of frypan (cast-iron skillet works best) with oil and heat on medium-high. When oil is hot, coat tomato slices again in flour and place in pan. Do not overlap slices.
Fry until golden brown. Turn and fry the other side. Drain on paper towels. Add more oil to pan, if necessary, and continue to fry all slices as directed.
Serve while hot and crisp.
