Divinity
Divinity is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. karo light corn syrup, 1/2 c. water, 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 egg whites, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

In heavy 2-quart saucepan stir together sugar, corn syrup, water and salt.
Cook over medium heat, stir constantly until mix boils.
Reduce heat and cook without stirring until temperature reaches 248° on candy thermometer or until it forms a firm ball when you drop in some cold water.
Just before temperature reaches 248°, beat egg whites in large bowl until soft but not dry.
Beat constantly on high speed, slowly pour about 1/2 of the hot syrup over egg whites.
Cook remaining syrup to 272°, until mixture dropped in very cold water separates into threads which are hard, but not brittle.
Beating constantly, pour syrup over first mixture, about 1 teaspoon at a time.
Beat well after addition. Beat until mixture looks like it is glossy.
Serves 8.
