Soak rice and beans separately so they steam evenly.
Mix rice with beans, chestnuts, jujubes, ginkgo, pine nuts, salt, and a little sesame oil.
Pack the mixture loosely into clean bamboo tubes or a lined steamer vessel.
Steam until the rice is tender and scented with bamboo.
Serve the rice in the opened bamboo with a small spoonful of seasoning sauce if desired.
