Heat milk, water and honey to 120°.
Assemble doughmaker.
In large mixer bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cup whole wheat flour, yeast, egg, salt and warm milk mixture.
Mix at high speed for 3 minutes.
Add 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour and 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour and continue kneading 3 more minutes.
If dough is sticky, knead in enough of remaining flour to form a stiff dough.
Place dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled. Punch down and divide into 2 equal parts.
Shape into loaves and place in greased pans.
Cover and let rise until doubled.
Bake at 375° for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350° and continue baking 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool on wire rack.
