Burgundy Beef Strips
Burgundy Beef Strips is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. boneless round steak or lean chuck, 3 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces, 4 small white onions, peeled, 3/4 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. black pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cut beef into 3/4-inch strips.
Pat dry.
Cook bacon in large skillet until crisp.
Transfer bacon to 2-quart baking dish with cover.
Add onions to bacon drippings in skillet.
Reduce heat to medium.
Cook until browned.
Add to bacon.
Brown meat in drippings, a few pieces at a time.
Transfer to bacon dish.
Add salt, pepper, wine, garlic, mushrooms, 3/4 cup water, parsley, celery, carrots and thyme to dish.
Cover.
Bake at 300Β° until meat is tender, about 2 hours.
Remove beef, mushrooms and onions from dish.
Strain liquid into saucepan.
Thicken with remaining flour and water.
Pour mixture over meat and vegetables.
