Bran Pretzels
Bran Pretzels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 1 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~), 1 1/2 c. nabisco 100% bran, 2 1/2 to 3 c. all-purpose flour and 1 tbsp. granulated sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Preheat oven to 425Β°.
Grease cookie sheet.
In large bowl, combine yeast and warm water; stir until dissolved.
Add bran; let stand 5 minutes to soften.
In medium bowl, combine 2 1/2 cups flour, sugar and salt.
Using wooden spoon, stir into bran mixture until well combined.
Gradually add remaining flour if dough is too sticky to handle.
Place on floured board; knead until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes.
Cover with towel.
Let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Divide dough into 12 pieces; roll each into 13-inch rope.
Form into pretzel shape.
Place on prepared cookie sheet.
Brush lightly with egg.
Sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 12 pretzels.
