Beef Stroganoff III
Beef Stroganoff Iii is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, 3 lb. sirloin, good cut steak, cut in strips, 2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to taste and 3/4 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Wash and cut mushrooms.
Season meat and brown in butter. Transfer to casserole.
Brown mushrooms in same pan and put them in casserole.
Put flour into remaining juices in pan and add sour cream.
Cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Pour sauce over meat. This can be prepared the day before.
Casserole should be heated in a very low oven (250° to 300°) for 1 hour.
Serves 8.
Serve with rice or English muffins.
