Winter Squash With Sweet Spices is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. winter squash, 2 whole cloves garlic, 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. ground ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cut off squash, peel, remove seeds and strings.
Cut flesh into 1-inch pieces.
Combine garlic, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, sugar, oil and water in a large skillet.
Bring to a simmer.
Add squash; stir until coated.

Bring to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat, occasionally stirring gently, until squash is tender, 30 minutes.
