Wild Rice Bread
Wild Rice Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. cooked wild rice, 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4 c. warm water, 2 1/2 c. water, boiled and cooled and 1/4 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Use a warm bowl and mix the 2 1/2 cups water, yeast mixture, brown sugar, molasses, butter, salt, Potato Buds and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Add wild rice and enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn out on a floured board and knead for 10 minutes.
Place dough in greased bowl and let rise until doubled or 2 hours. Divide into 4 parts. Form into loaves and place in well-greased pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes in a 350Β° oven.
Cool on wire rack.
This is especially good with cheese whip and olives.
