Venison Or Beef Stew is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. stew meat, 1 large onion, sliced, 1/2 lb. carrots, sliced, 1 c. prunes stuffed with hazelnuts (optional) and 3 bay leaves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cut meat in bite size pieces.
Heat oil.
Add bay leaves; cover.
Let them "crackle," then add meat and brown on all sides. When half done, add onion.
Sprinkle flour over and brown.
Add Guiness and water (add more liquid as needed).
Add parsley and carrots.
Cover and cook in 275Β° oven about 2 hours.
Stir and add water as needed.
If desired, add prunes last 1/2 hour.
