Sweet and Sour Pork
Sweet And Sour Pork is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. lean pork loin, 2 tbsp. oil, 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks with juice, 1/2 c. water and 1/3 c. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Trim all visible fat from pork loin and cut into thin strips. Heat oil in skillet and brown the meat strips.
Remove meat and set aside.
Drain the pineapple and combine pineapple juice with water, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch and soy sauce.
Shake in a glass jar until well mixed.
Cook sweet and sour sauce in skillet until clear and slightly thickened.
Add the meat and cook over low heat for about 1 hour.
About 5 minutes before serving, add the green pepper, onion slices and pineapple chunks.
Serve over steamed rice.
