Soft Pretzels
Soft Pretzels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 or 4 1/2 c. bread flour, 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. sugar and 1 1/3 c. water (warm), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let stand for few minutes.
Stir together 2 cups flour, yeast and salt.
Add liquid ingredients and beat 3 to 4 minutes.
Add enough additional flour to make soft, yet manageable, dough (about 2 1/2 cups).
Knead 8 to 10 minutes until smooth.
Divide dough into 12 equal portions and roll each section into 15-inch rope.
Roll lightly in coarse salt or topping of choice and shape into pretzel.
Place on greased baking sheet and bake in 425Β° oven for 20 minutes.
Upon removing from oven, brush with melted butter liberally on both sides.
