Queen's Chocolate Cake
Queen'S Chocolate Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 2/3 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels, 2 tbsp. dark rum, 3 eggs, separated, 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar and dash of salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Place chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook, stirring occasionally, until chocolate melts.
Remove from hot water; let cool completely. Stir in rum.
Combine egg whites, cream of tartar and salt in a small mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until foamy.
Add 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating at high speed until stiff peaks form.
Cover; set aside.
