Mom's Famous Rolls
Mom'S Famous Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 1/3 c. lukewarm water, 2 c. milk, 1/2 c. sugar and 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Scald milk, sugar and shortening; do not boil.
Cool to lukewarm.
Add yeast.
Add enough flour to make soft batter; beat well.
Cover.
Let set for 1 hour (mixture will double in volume).
Add soda, baking powder and salt; beat well.
Add enough flour to make dough stiff.
Knead well to make fine mixture.
(Dough is easier to knead and less sticky if refrigerated for several hours.)
Make as many rolls as desired. Dip in melted shortening, butter or oleo.
Place in greased pan and let rise until double in bulk.
Keep dough in refrigerator and use as needed.
Will keep for 5 days.
If refrigerated, let rise 1 to 2 hours.
Bake at 400Β° for 15 to 20 minutes.
