π Recipe adapted from RecipeNLG-Full
Place flour and salt in electric mixing bowl.
Measure out a generous 2/3 cup Crisco shortening.
Add to flour and mix on low speed (low to start, you may want to increase the speed after the flour is well mixed with the shortening) until it resembles thick putty.
It may take from 2 to 3 minutes to 4 to 5 minutes before it starts to form into 2 or 3 large lumps.
Then add cold water, one tablespoon at a time; mix well until you have a nice soft dough.
This makes a wonderful, tender, flaky crust.
If dough seems too stiff or cracks while rolling, just put it back in the bowl and add more water, 1 tablespoon at a time.
