Massachusettes Biscuits
Massachusettes Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt and 6 tbsp. cold butter or margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Preheat oven to 425°.
In a medium bowl stir flour, sugar, baking powder and salt with a fork.
With a pastry bender, cut butter or margarine into the mixture until it is crumbly.
In a small bowl, beat milk and egg with a fork.
Stir into flour mixture just until all of the flour is moistened.
Place dough on a lightly-floured board or counter top and knead gently for 5 or 6 times with a rolling pin.
Roll into a 9-inch circle about 1/2-inch thick.
Cut with a biscuit cutter.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 425° or until golden brown.
