Homemade Wheat Bread
Homemade Wheat Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 1/2 c. warm water, 3 c. hot water, 4 c. whole wheat flour and 2/3 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Soften dry yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
Combine shortening. Stir in whole wheat flour and 1 cup white flour.
Beat well.
Stir in softened yeast.
Add 3 cups white flour.
Rest of flour will be used to knead dough.
Knead dough for 1 to 12 minutes.
Shape dough into ball.
Cover in greased bowl big enough to let rise double in size for 1 1/2 hours.
Punch down; shape into 3 smooth balls.
Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Shape into 3 loaves.
Put into greased pans and let rise until double (1 1/2 hours).
Bake at 375Β° for 45 minutes.
Cover loosely with foil if loaves brown too quickly.
