Great Grandma's Scotch Shortbread
Great Grandma'S Scotch Shortbread is an easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. butter (i use 1/2 lb. butter and 1/2 lb. margarine), 1/2 lb. sugar (fine granulated is best), 2 lb. flour and 1 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Cream butter well until almost like whipped cream.
Mix dry ingredients together and add slowly to butter.
I use the mixer as long as possible, then use hands.
Mold into long square logs and refrigerate at least overnight.
Let warm up enough to slice. Place on cookie sheet.
Put holes in top with fork or tenderizer hammer.
Bake at 275Β° for about 15 minutes.
Don't overbrown.
