Grandma's Old Fashioned Gingerbread
Grandma'S Old Fashioned Gingerbread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. brown sugar, 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 small bottle cinnamon oil, 2 whole eggs and 2 egg yolks (save whites), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Mix sugar and shortening well.
Add ginger, cinnamon oil, eggs and cooking oil.
Mix until all lumps are gone.
Add milk slowly; add flour, mixing with hands or dough hooks.
Place the cup of flour in a large bowl and lightly knead dough therein.
Pat dough into cakes 3 to 4 inches long, or roll thin and cut into gingerbread men.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 450Β° for about 8 minutes until lightly browned.
Beat egg whites with sugar and brush tops and bottoms before they cool.
Serve hot with a cold glass of milk.
