Grandma Giannelli's Artichokes
Grandma Giannelli'S Artichokes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 large artichokes, 2 eggs, 1 clove garlic, chopped, 4 c. italian bread, crumbled and 3/4 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Using a sharp knife, cut the stem off each artichoke to make a flat base. Pull off tough outer leaves.
Cut off about 1/2 inch off the top of each artichoke and open tops with your fingers. Invert the artichokes on a flat surface, pressing down on each one its leaves.
Moisten with water.
Combine all other ingredients add to bread mixture. Divide filling into four equal and stuff into artichokes, center first, then filling between the leaves.
