Double Boiler Fluffy White Frosting
Double Boiler Fluffy White Frosting is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 egg whites, 2 tbsp. light corn syrup, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/3 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine egg whites, sugar, water, corn syrup and salt in double boiler top. With electric mixer at high speed, beat about 1 minute to blend.
Place over rapidly boiling water and beat until mixture holds a peak when beater is raised.
Remove from boiling water. Add vanilla and continue to beat until mixture is stiff enough to spread. Fills and frosts top and sides of two 8-inch or 9-inch layers or a 9 x 9 x 2 or 8 x 8 x 2-inch cake.
