Chicken Cordon Bleu
Chicken Cordon Bleu is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 large whole chicken breasts, halved, boned and skinned, 4 thin (3-inch square) slices boiled ham, 4 small thin slices swiss cheese, 3/4 c. fine dried bread crumbs and salt and pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cut a deep pocket in side of each chicken breast at its thickest part.
Fold a ham slice around a cheese slice; tuck in pocket.
Skewer with toothpicks to secure.
Combine bread crumbs, salt and pepper.
Roll chicken in butter, then in bread crumbs. Place in buttered baking sheet.
Bake at 400Β° for 30 to 40 minutes.
Brush with butter from pan if chicken becomes too dry.
