Black Bullets

Boil sugar, glucose, water, and treacle until the syrup reaches hard-crack stage.

Stir in peppermint, anise, citric acid, and black coloring off the heat.

Pour onto an oiled slab and fold as the candy cools enough to handle.

Cut or roll into small bullets, then dust lightly so they do not stick.
