Barbecued Beef
Barbecued Beef is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. salad oil, 4 to 5 lb. sirloin roast beef (rump or bottom) or pork, 2 large onions, chopped, 1 large green pepper, chopped and 2 stalks celery, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Saute onion, green pepper, celery garlic in oil; cook until onions are catsup, tomatoes, vinegar, brown sugar and chili powder.
Stir in basil, oregano, cinnamon and salt.
Partially cook meat in roasting pan with 1 cup of water at 325° for about 2 hours.
Drain juices and save for future gravy if desired.
Over meat and continue to bake for 1 to 2 hours tender.
More taste, omit baking with water use sauce from start; cook about 2 hours, cover loosely and refrigerate overnight.
(Not in a cast iron pan). Finish cooking with rolls for sandwiches or use it as the main entrée.
