Au Gratin Potatoes
Au Gratin Potatoes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 to 7 medium potatoes, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 3 tbsp. butter or margarine, 1 tbsp. flour and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Peel potatoes and boil for about 25 minutes.
Drain and set aside.
Cook and stir onion in margarine in 2-quart saucepan until onion is tender.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in milk and 1 1/2 cups of the cheese.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Boil and stir one minute.
Place potatoes in ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Pour cheese sauce on potatoes. Cook, uncovered, in 325Β° oven for 1 hour.
