White Bread
White Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 1/2 to 6 c. bread flour, 3 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. salt, 2 pkg. yeast and 2 c. water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
Blend well.
Heat water and shortening (to 120° to 130°).
Add water mixture to flour mixture.
Blend at low speed, then medium speed for 3 minutes. Stir in remaining flour until soft and pliable.
Knead 5 to 10 minutes.
Place in greased bowl.
Cover with clean cloth and let dough rise until doubled (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
Punch down dough, removing all air bubbles.
Divide in half.
Shape into 2 loaves. Place in greased bread loaf pans.
Rise until dough is 1-inch above edge of pan.
