Venison Casserole
Venison Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1-3 lbs. sliced steak or tenderloin, 5 lg. potatoes peeled and sliced, 1 lg. onion peeled and sliced, flour and shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Dredge the steak in flour. Using the shortening in a hot skillet brown the meat. Salt and pepper to taste. It is not necessary to fully cook the meat at this point, just brown the coating. In a large casserole dish, layer the meat and potatoes and onions. Finish with meat on top Cover with water. Bake at 350 degrees for 2-3 hrs. The meat will be very tender.
