Toffee Bar Cake
Toffee Bar Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar, 2 c. flour, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, chilled, 1 c. milk and 1 large egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.
Combine brown sugar and flour in large mixer bowl, on low speed, until thoroughly combined.
Cut butter into 8 pieces; cut into sugar-flour mixture with a pastry blender, until mixture is size of small peas and uniformly mixed.
Transfer 1 cup of mixture to medium bowl to use as topping.
Add milk, egg, vanilla and baking soda to remaining crumb mixture.
Beat on high speed for 2 minutes.
Transfer to prepared pan.
Coarsely mince candy bars; add to reserved crumbs, along with pecans.
Sprinkle evenly over cake.
Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
Place pan on wire rack; cool completely.
