Tea Cakes(100 Year Old Recipe)
Tea Cakes(100 Year Old Recipe) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 c. self-rising flour, 4 eggs, 2 c. sugar, 1 stick butter and 2 tsp. flavoring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
This is how tea cakes were made over 100 years ago by using a wooden bread tray (I still have mine).
Don't use a spoon; mix with your hand.
You sift flour in bread tray and make a hole in middle of flour.
Break eggs and put in hole, then add sugar and flavoring in hole.
Put a big handful of Crisco on top.
Add a little milk if needed.
Mix it real well with hand, taking up as much flour as you needed or until you can feel the grains of sugar, then knead until you can make biscuits.
Pinch off little pieces big enough to make a biscuit.
Bake at 400Β° until brown.
Makes about 2 1/2 to 3 dozen.
