Sweet Dough
Sweet Dough is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 to 5 1/2 c. unsifted flour, 1/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 2 pkg. dry yeast and 1 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt and yeast. Combine milk, water and margarine in saucepan; heat over low heat until liquids are very warm (120° to 130°).
Margarine does not need to melt.
Gradually add to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
Add eggs and 1/2 cup flour.
Beat at high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap, then a towel. Set aside 20 minutes.
Turn dough out onto heavily floured board. Divide dough in half.
Roll each half into a 14 x 10-inch rectangle.
Fill with choice of fillings.
