Star Spangled Banana Bread
Star Spangled Banana Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 1/2 to 6 c. flour, 2 pkg. instant blend dry yeast, 1/2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
In large mixer bowl, combine 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt, ginger and orange peel; mix well.
In saucepan, heat milk, water and butter until warm (120 to 130Β°, butter does not need to melt). Add to flour mixture; add egg and bananas.
Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed.
Gradually stir in remaining flour to make a firm dough.
Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top.
Cover; let rise in warm place until light and doubled, about 1 hour.
