Milk Caramels
Milk Caramels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. light corn syrup, 3 c. milk, 1/4 c. butter and 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Heat sugar and syrup in 1 cup milk, stirring until dissolved. Cook, stirring frequently, to 246° to 248°, or until firm ball stage.
Slowly add second cup of milk and repeat the cooking process.
Add the final cup of milk, the butter and salt.
Cook to 246° to 248°, or until a firm ball stage in cold water.
Remove from heat.
Add vanilla and pour at once into buttered pan.
Cut into squares when cool.
