Kentucky Buttermilk Cake
Kentucky Buttermilk Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. butter and 1 1/3 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

On wax paper, combine flour, salt and baking powder.
In large mixing bowl with mixer on medium, beat butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
In measuring cup, mix baking soda with water; add buttermilk.
With mixer at low speed, alternately beat buttermilk and flour mixture into butter and sugar mixture until well combined.
In medium mixing bowl with mixer on high, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
Fold whites into batter.
Divide batter evenly into prepared pans (greased and floured).
Bake 20 minutes in preheated 350Β° oven until pick inserted comes out clean. Remove from pans and cool completely on wire rack.
Fill center and frost with buttercream frosting.
