Jerky
Jerky is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. lean boned beef or venison, sliced thin (1/4 inch or thinner), 1/2 c. salt, 2 c. vinegar, 3/4 tsp. garlic powder and 3/4 tsp. red pepper (cayenne), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix salt and vinegar; bring to a rolling boil.
Drop meat in for 30 seconds or until meat turns white.
Drain and blot meat dry.
Mix garlic powder, red pepper (cayenne), garlic salt and liquid smoke well.
Brush mixture on meat.
Put in oven and bake at 175Β° for 2 to 3 hours.
If making at night, it is best if left in oven overnight after oven is turned off.
