Indian Fry Bread
Puffy, golden discs of dough fried until crisp at the edges and chewy inside. A Native American staple eaten plain, drizzled with honey, or piled high as Indian tacos.

Sift dry ingredients together and mix in shortening. Gradually add the warm water.
Mix very gently.
Knead until dough is soft to handle.
Cover and let dough rise for about 20 minutes. Roll into golf ball size pieces.
