Holiday Beef Roast
Holiday Beef Roast is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 1/2 to 5 lb. shoulder, cut or middle chuck, 2 garlic cloves, 3 tbsp. flour, 1/4 tsp. salt and paprika, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Rub meat with cut cloves of garlic and dredge with flour. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika.
Place in roasting pan in which shortening has been melted.
Arrange onions and carrots around and under meat.
Place in preheated oven and roast at 325Β° allowing 25 to 35 minutes per pound.
(Do not turn roast with a fork.
Piercing the seared outer coat releases juices that should remain inside.
Do not baste.)
Thicken gravy after roast is done and lifted from the pan.
