Chunky Granola
Chunky Granola is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 c. rolled oats, 1/2 c. sunflower seeds or nuts, 1/2 c. coconut, 1/2 c. wheat germ and 1/2 c. powdered milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Place oats in an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350° for 10 minutes, stirring 2 to 3 times.
Remove from oven and add sunflower seeds, coconut, wheat germ, powdered milk, cinnamon, slivered almonds.
Place honey and vegetable oil in a pan on stove top and heat until hot but not boiling.
Pour over dry mixture and stir until well coated.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°, stirring every 3 to 5 minutes until uniformly golden brown.
Let cool in pan undisturbed, then break into chunks.
May add raisins, dates and dried apricots.
Store in airtight container.
