Cabbage Au Gratin
Cabbage Au Gratin is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. margarine, melted, 1 1/2 tbsp. plain flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. milk and 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Boil cabbage for 5 minutes in enough water to cover; drain well.
Combine 2 tablespoons melted margarine, flour and salt and pepper in saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until bubbly.
Gradually add milk.
Cook until smooth and thickened. Alternate layers of cabbage, cheese and white sauce in a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Combine crumbs and 4 tablespoons melted butter.
Sprinkle over casserole.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
